Program Description

The Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS) for Mathematics are a new set of standards created through a State-led initiative in an attempt to provide consistent standards for all students, regardless of where they live.  These Standards are informed by the highest, most effective models from States across the country and countries around the world and provide teachers and parents with a common understanding of what students are expected to learn.

Students in third grade through eight grade are required to take a state math assessment each year in April. Therefore, these standards are to be implemented on a April to April basis starting in third grade.

The Common Core Learning Standards are the minimal expectations for Williamsville students to know, understand, and be able to do. We expect Williamsville students to continue to aspire to that higher standard.
