Welcome to Dodge Elementary, the most dynamic school on the planet! We are blessed to be a part of the Williamsville Central School District and community. We look forward to continue working with and furthering relationships with parents and students. Our goal is to provide an environment and educational experience that enables all students to become successful members of our community through consistent social and academic development.

Charlie Smilinich
At Dodge Elementary, we look to create learning communities that help children grow intellectually, socially and emotionally. Your child's elementary school years are an extraordinary time in his or her life. It is a time when children become more independent as they transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." We believe that parents are a vital part of a child’s education and look forward to having communication with parents as our partners throughout the educational process.

All of the teachers in the Williamsville Central School District use a comprehensive literacy approach in their classroom, which include guided reading, shared reading and independent reading. Students are instructed in small flexible groups at their own individual reading level. This allows students to be successful and progress at their own rate. The goal is to create independent and strategic readers and writers. In addition, we also utilize the New York State Domains in grades K-2 and the Modules in grades 3-4.

The primary resource for mathematics at Dodge Elementary is the New York State Math Modules. The focus is to have our students become strategic, independent problem solvers and to conceptually understand mathematics. Our students work daily on their basic foundational skills and are always looking forward to being challenged mathematically.

At Dodge Elementary, we have a set of shared values that guide our beliefs about teaching and learning. We instill responsibility, manners, and social skills into the impressionable minds of our youth, while at the same time provoking imagination, curiosity, self-exploration, and individual thought. We encourage our students to experience meaningful learning that inspires them to make connections between their experiences and the subject matter they learn. We are committed to producing independent, lifelong learners who are responsible, contributing members of a diverse society.

We believe that all children can learn and deserve a safe, sufficient, and positive school experience. We know that high expectations for student achievement combined with adequate support and intervention will result in academic proficiency and growth.

Please feel free to contact us at 626-9820  any time throughout the year if you should have any questions regarding Dodge Elementary and the great educational programs we have here.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mr. Smilinich
