Suryia & Roscoe

3suryiaSuryia the orangutan lives at the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Suriya was three years old and both her parents had died.  She was so sad, she wouldn't eat.  The veterinarians thought she would die.  Then one day, an old dog named Roscoe wandered into the zoo.  Roscoe was an orphan, too!  Suriya ran right over to Roscoe and gave him a big hug.  The two animals have been best friends ever since!  Suryia gives half her food to Roscoe every day, and the two friends love to swim together.  Sometimes Suryia is a little nervous about swimming, but Roscoe makes her feel better.
