Often discovered too late for a good prognosis, eating disorders can be recognized if you know what to look for. Learn the signs, dangerous combinations and what you, as helping professionals can do to help recognize, prevent or treat an eating disorder.

August 4th – The History of Addiction in American and Its Social Impact Today 9AM - 4PM (ONLY $50)

This course will address the didactic areas that will cover attempts to treat Civil War vets for morphine addiction, and the growth of agonist therapy such as methadone, suboxone, etc. The social aspects of addiction in the US will be discussed,including the ways racial problems have played a role. One of the primary goals will be to underline how we have taken a human weakness and criminalized it to the detriment and benefit of our population.
August 5th — Marijuana and All Its Questions, Controversy, and Future 9AM - 4PM (ONLY 50$)

This course will cover marijuana as a medicine, drug of abuse and its potential for addiction. The goal of this training is to inform participants about the latest developments regarding marijuana. Attendees will be asked to look at the discrepancy of how marijuana is talked about by human service workers and how they think about it. Controversy surrounding medical marijuana, as well as its potential legalization, will be covered.
August 18th—What is Methamphetamine? 9AM - 4PM (ONLY $50)

This course explains the different forms and types of Meth and their production, routes of administration, considerations for treatment, cost to the user and society, the latest research, how to recognize a lab and the hazardous signs of a cooker and users.
