District Honors 12 distinguished Alumni

A cancer research scientist, the team physician for the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres, and an Emmy award-winning producer for Saturday Night Live were among twelve distinguished alumni inducted into the Williamsville Wall of Fame October 27.  An awards breakfast was held at the Park Country Club and afterwards, the honorees returned to their respective alma maters to address students during special school assemblies.

Superintendent Dr. Scott G. Martzloff served as master of ceremonies for the breakfast event, which is sponsored by the Williamsville Education Foundation. "The incredible achievements of this year's Wall of Fame honoress serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of public education," Dr. Martzloff said.  "These twelve individuals have made significan and meaningful contributions to our society and are role models for the young people of today who are sitting in the same classrooms where they once sat."

This year marks the tenth biennial Wall of Fame induction, which currently boasts 106 members from the district’s three high schools as well as the original Williamsville High School dating back to the early 20th century. The Williamsville Education Foundation, Inc. is an independent 501c3 organization. All proceeds from the Wall of Fame celebration support the Foundation’s teacher mini-grant program, which funds innovative, student-focused projects across the district each year.
