Subscribe to E-Alerts
**Please Note** With the transition to a new provider, if a subscriber inadvertently opted out of text messages, you will need to re-enroll for the service. First, click on Edit Existing Record (top of page), and enter in your email address. You will be sent an email with a link where you will update your record. After updating the information, please enter in your cell phone number and then text Subscribe sworld to 63079 or 23177. At that point you will be opted back in to receive text messages.
There are many factors beyond the District’s control that affect e-mail delivery. For example, some e-mail service providers may delay delivery or blacklist high volume “robo” e-mails as spam. You may not receive an e-mail message in a timely fashion or, perhaps, not at all. Text messages for emergency communications are more reliable and immediate. We understand that there may be a minimal cost to you to receive text messages but the district only uses the message system for emergency communications or school cancellations, unless you opt-in to receive messages about planetarium events.
E-Alerts is an opt-in service. Please select "District Emergency/Closing Information" to receive information about district-wide closings in addition to individual schools that are of interest to you. You will automatically receive notice of an emergency situation affecting those particular schools (for example, a power outage).
You may opt out of e-Alerts at any time by revising your information at this site. Just complete the simple steps below.
**Just For Kids** - For families who participate in the Just For Kids after school childcare program, you now have the option to get alerts about school closings or cancellations that impact JFK and your child(ren). Please check the Just For Kids menu option when you register for E-alerts.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY ALERTS VIA TEXT MESSAGE, AS WELL AS E-MAIL, PLEASE ENTER YOUR CELL PHONE NUMBER IN THE FORM BELOW (scroll down, after list of schools).
You will be asked to agree to certain terms and conditions in order to subscribe to the emergency text messaging. Service provider rates for text messaging may apply; please consult your mobile service provider's pricing plan to determine the charges you may incur for receiving text messages.
If you are a current subscriber for e-Alerts and want to add the text message alert feature, you must update your contact information by clicking on "EDIT EXISTING RECORD". After entering your e-mail address, you will receive an automated e-mail message containing a direct link to your information page, which you can then edit.
You may also receive notices about events and shows taking place at the Williamsville SpaceLab Planetarium, located on the North High School Campus. Public shows are scheduled several times during the school year and are offered free of charge. To receive these special notices from Planetarium Director Mark Percy, please check the "planetarium" box below when filling out the form.
