Distraction-Free School Zones
Use of Internet-Enabled Devices During the School Day
Policy #7316 was adopted during the July 1, 2025 Board of Education Meeting and goes into effect on September 1, 2025.
District Policy #7316
Securing Personal, Internet-Enabled Devices
Communicating During the School Day
IEP & 504 Plans
The medical and mental health conditions that may make requiring personal, internet-enabled devices for students in school are very rare. Healthcare providers will be required to provide written recommendations for personal, internet-enabled devices (i.e. cell phones and other technology), to manage medical or mental health conditions during school hours. The following guidance regarding medical and mental health exceptions does not replace conversations between families and healthcare providers about the risks and benefits of individual students carrying a personal, internet-enabled device.
