7120 AGE OF ENTRANCE

Kindergarten

Students who are legal residents of the District and who reside with parents or guardians within the District at the time of the opening day of school must be five (5) years of age or more on or before December 1 in order to register for Kindergarten.

A child who transfers into the District at any time during the school year may be considered for admission to Kindergarten by the Superintendent provided:

  1. The parents were not legal residents of the District on the opening day of school, and
  2. The child has been registered and enrolled in kindergarten in the District in which his/her parents were legal residents.
A child who has regularly attended and satisfactorily completed a year's work in a Kindergarten which is duly registered with the State Education Department will be enrolled in the first grade.

Proof of Age

A student's original birth certificate or passport must be presented at the time of initial registration. The child shall be entered under his/her legal name.
