Dignity for All Students Act at Country Parkway
- Being courteous and polite
- Listening to what others have to say
- Using kind words
Country Parkway continued to take a proactive approach to developing assets by teaching our students about being caring people. We encouraged all students to treat others with kindness, generosity, be sensitive to others’ feelings and we encouraged our students to help others in need.
We have urged our students to be responsible. We have asked students to take responsibility for their own actions without making excuses or blaming others. We have asked students to think before taking action and always taking care of their own business.
We have taught our students to be trustworthy. Specifically, to be honest, reliable and have the courage to do what is right even when it is difficult. We have encouraged our children to be fair by taking turns, thinking how actions affect others and playing by the rules.
All of these critical traits are taught and reinforced in our daily messages to students.
On Unity Day, Country Parkway dedicated time to Unite Against Bullying. This day was dedicated to putting an end to bullying by reinforcing all of the positive traits we behold and all of the assets we have and will acquire. We had the entire school pledge to end Bullying.
Prevention is key at the elementary level. Therefore, we teach students to make good decisions. The Wellness team coordinates a variety of activities throughout the year with the goal of building assets for our students. Some of the activities include: team level service projects, infusion of anti-harassment and bullying messages and promoting multicultural celebrations.
