Closed Captioning for YouTube Videos in Languages Other Than English

Steps for Translation

  1. Navigate to YouTube and select the video you want to play: www.youtube.com
     
  2. Click the "Closed Captioning" box to enable closed captioning on the video (a red icon status bar will appear under the "CC" box to show it is enabled).

  3. Open the settings by clicking the gearbox that is located next to closed captioning.

  4. Select "Subtitles/CC," which is the second option available in settings.

  5. Select "auto-translate," which is the third option below "off" and "English (auto-generated)."

  6. Select the language for translation by scrolling through the languages that are listed.

  7. Closed captioning on the video should now translate in the selected language.
