Overview
Elementary Summer School Program
Location: Casey Middle School
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
The Williamsville Central School District provides an in person remedial elementary summer school program based on teacher and principal referral only. The classes in summer school emphasize English Language Arts and Mathematics for students who are below grade level in either or both of these areas. Summer school is a seven-week program and begins Wednesday, July 8 and ends on Tuesday, August 18.
Math is held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and English Language Arts (ELA) from 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. each day. Depending on their academic needs, children might not stay for the full day.
A WITSMail will be sent to families of recommended students in May. Families will need to accept or decline the summer school recommendation.
For identified incoming kindergarten students, a kindergarten preparation program is in place. Families of recommended students will receive communication on specific dates, locations, and times for the program from your child's home school.
Middle Summer School Program
Location: Casey Middle School
Time: Period 1 - 7:30 a.m. to 9:18 a.m.
Period 2 - 9:23 a.m. to 11:11 a.m.
Period 3 - 11:16 a.m. to 1:04 p.m.
The Williamsville Central School District provides a remedial middle summer school program for eligible students. In order to enroll in middle school courses, students must have failed the course(s) for which they wish to register and be recommended by the principal. All classes meet for 108 minutes. Classes begin Wednesday, July 8 and end on Tuesday, August 18.
Your child's school counselor will be in contact with families during the last week in June.
English As A New Language (ENL) Academy
Location: Casey Middle School
Time: Period 1 - 7:30 a.m. to 9:18 a.m.
Period 2 - 9:23 a.m. - 11:11 a.m.
English Language Learners entering kindergarten through grade 8 are invited to attend the ENL Summer Academy. Taught by New York State certified teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, students' acquisition of English Language Arts skills will be accelerated through standards-based instruction that develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The ENL Academy follows the summer school schedule. Registration information will be shared in late May or early June to the families of students who qualify. Confirmation for the program will be sent to families through WITS. Please note that ENL academy students only attend one (1) class period.
After registering your child for the ENL academy, families will be contacted as to which period their child will attend.
