Course Description

Students completing the Williamsville Middle School Health Education course will have the skills and knowledge needed to promote and maintain a healthy lifestyle.  The course is designed for adolescents and builds a solid base of understanding in health related areas that will allow students continued growth in future high school health education classes.

The Middle School health curriculum focuses on seven skills that will help students achieve healthy lifestyle goals.  Those skills are Self Management, Relationship Management, Communication, Decision Making, Planning and Goal Setting and Advocacy.

Middle School students will also have a solid understanding of health education functional knowledge in the areas of physical activity and nutrition, tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, family life, injury prevention, violence prevention, diseases, and mental health.
