Breakout EDU!

What is a Breakout Box?
In a Breakout Box activity, students work together and think critically to "break into" locked boxes.  They23230696369_3e085e1c22_b-1-880x440 must solve challenging puzzles and follow directions carefully to succeed.  Breakout box games require "the four C's"...

  • Critical Thinking
  • Creativity
  • Collaboration
  • Communication
Students get to practice their problem-solving skills and cultivate "grit"...there will be failures, but students must perservere in order to succeed.

In library, our 4th graders were able to participate in a Breakout Box activity called "Locked in the Library".  They worked together in groups of 4 or 5, practicing their keyword searching skills, following directions VERY carefully and thinking critically in order to succeed.

Advice from the students:
"Don't give up, even when it's hard"
"Work fast but be accurate"
"You'll have so much fun!"IMG_9503"Work together and don't be bossy"
