Dear Williamsville Central School District Families,

In September, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) notified school districts that they are beginning to collect information regarding internet access and digital devices used in the home for education.  The goal is to gain a better understanding of digital equity across the state and better serve students and families.

In order to accomplish this, NYSED is asking parents/guardians to complete a Digital Equity Survey.  This survey features nine questions and needs to be completed for each student in grades K-12 to help provide accurate information.

From November 8th through November 15th, the Digital Equity Survey will be available in WITS.  Once completed, the District will then provide those survey results to NYSED.

To help in completing this survey, NYSED has also provided a guidance document with an explanation of the terms used and questions.  It can be accessed here: NYSED Digital Equity Survey Question Guidance.

Thank you for your help in completing this survey.

Sincerely,

Dr. Darren J. Brown-Hall
Superintendent of Schools
