01-18-22 COVID-19 At-Home Test Kit Distribution Information for Families

January 18, 2022

Dear Williamsville Central School District Families,

The District received a second shipment of COVID-19 at-home test kits from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to distribute to students. Please know that there is a limited supply of test kits available.

Distribution will take place on Thursday, January 20th from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Please follow the information below and pick up the at-home tests at the associated middle school.

  • If your child attends Dodge, Casey, or Williamsville North, pick up will take place at Casey Middle School.
  • If your child attends Heim Elementary, Heim Middle, or Williamsville North pick up will take place at Heim Middle School.
  • If your child attends Forest, Maple West, Mill, or Williamsville South, pick up will take place at Mill Middle School.
  • If your child attends Country Parkway, Maple East, Transit, or Williamsville East, pick up will take place at Transit Middle School.

Please review the parking and pick up information for each school here: Middle School Site Maps for COVID-19 At-Home Test Kit Distribution.

Test kits, which include two (2) tests, will not be provided unless a parent/guardian is present during pick up.  Test kits will also only be distributed for students who are on our school lists. Universal pre-k students who are off-site will not be allocated test kits.

This testing is not required but being made available to students.  We believe providing this testing is another mitigation practice that will help maintain an educational environment that is healthy and safe.

It is also important to note the District is not recording or reporting at-home test results. However, if your child(ren) receives a positive result from the COVID-19 at home test, please report it to the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) at the following link: https://www3.erie.gov/covid/form/form-to-report-a-positive-covid-.

If your child(ren) tests positive for COVID-19, please keep them home, notify their building of attendance, and follow all of the appropriate return to school criteria prior to sending them back to school.

Sincerely,

Dr. Darren J. Brown-Hall
Superintendent of Schools
