11-10-20 Survey to Families Regarding COVID-19 Random Testing

November 10, 2020

Dear Williamsville Central School District Families,

With the District designated in a “Yellow Zone” we are surveying families regarding the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Guidelines regarding random COVID-19 testing of students who are attending school in-person as part of the hybrid/hyflex model.  Students who are fully remote will not be required to be a part of the testing per the NYSDOH guidance.

You can read the guidelines here: Yellow, Orange, and Red Zone Micro-Cluster Information.

Our goal is to continue with our current instructional models at the elementary, middle, and high school levels for as long as possible.  However, we need to be prepared for all possibilities as a result of the COVID-19 global health pandemic.

With that in mind, we need your support to complete and submit the survey on WITS regarding whether you intend to have your child(ren) participate in random COVID-19 testing: https://wits.williamsvillek12.org.

This survey needs to completed by Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

Please note this is an informational survey to estimate how much of our in-person school population is willing to participate in the random COVID-19 testing. This is not an affirmation of consent.

The latest information we have from our conversations with the Erie County Department of Health is that Binax COVID-19 (non-invasive) rapid tests will be provided to the District.

We appreciate your help.

Sincerely,

Dr. John E. McKenna
Acting Superintendent of Schools
