11-18-20 Orange Zone Micro-Cluster Update to Families

November 18, 2020

Dear Williamsville Central School District Families and Staff,

Today, it was announced the District was placed in an “Orange Zone” with guidelines going into effect on Monday, November 23, 2020.

As a result of this, the District will be pivoting to remote instruction pursuant to the New York State Department of Health Micro-Cluster Guidelines.  Remote instruction will begin on Monday, November 23, 2020 and continue until further notice.

In-person classes will proceed as scheduled on Thursday, November 19, 2020 and Friday, November 20, 2020.  All parent teacher conferences will go on as scheduled virtually.

We will monitor the daily positivity rate and evaluate whether re-opening our schools is in the best interest of the health and safety of our school community while in an Orange Zone.

If you have any transition or instructional questions, please e-mail your child(ren)’s guidance counselor, teacher, or building principal.

The District would like our families to know food distribution will not be impacted and will continue as planned at this time.  Updated information regarding meals is available on WITS and on the District’s website.

For further information on micro-clusters, the latest guidance and communications are available on our Micro-cluster Information page. Please also be sure to refer to our Micro-cluster Frequently Asked Questions document.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership through these uncertain times.

We will continue to update you with the latest, up-to-date information as it becomes available.

Stay safe and stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Dr. John E. McKenna
Acting Superintendent of Schools
