Standards-based Educator Evaluation and Support System (STEPS) Plan
Education Law §3012-e was established in June of June 2024. As a result, it is required that school districts and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) transition to new teacher and principal evaluation systems by June 30, 2032. These new plans, Standards-based Educator Evaluation and Professional Support Plans or STEPS, must be submitted to and accepted by the New York State Education Department to ensure that plans are compliant with the law and align with STEPS guidance.
The Williamsville Central School District received acceptance for their STEPS plan in December of 2025. In accordance with STEPS assurances, the plan is posted below. The plan will also be available on the NYSED website.
